Creation of an aesthetically enhanced space for staff and clients to highlight Architect 49's LEED Platinum certified headquarters.

0.52 hectares of grounds at the Architect 49 Headquarters were planted with tall grass prairie species to reduce maintenance costs and enhance sustainability.

The Architect 49 Headquarters project began in 2006 when the company was still known as Smith Carter, and was completed in 2009. NPS was responsible for native grass seeding, erosion control, goose deterrence, weed control and a native grass management plan. The management plan is ongoing and has included controlled burns carried out by NPS grassland specialists in 2011 and 2017.
