Kristel is a Water Resources Engineer focused on watershed protection and sustainable water management. Kristel has been an integral team member in the development and delivery of constructed wetland designs, ensuring that constructed facilities offer the hydrologic and hydraulic performance necessary to support wetland function. Her expertise includes water balance analyses, hydrologic and hydraulic modelling and the design of all engineering works associated with wetland development (e.g., dyke systems, inlets, fixed and variable water level control structures, etc.). Kristel’s past projects include wetlands for urban stormwater management, effluent treatment, site reclamation and compensation. She also worked with Alberta Environment and Parks to develop a draft Wetland Construction Directive and related Construction Guide, providing technical input on the engineering requirements for constructed wetlands.
